Types Of Positions
Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
Full-time and part-time positions all require a HS Diploma/GED and an acceptable driving record, with the exception of sleepover, live-in and awake night positions. Education, training and/or experience in a related area is preferred. Position title and/or responsibilities may vary depending on location.
Waivered Services
Work with individuals with developmental disabilities providing community based supports. Responsibilities may include teaching independent living skills, maintaining a clean and safe living environment, meal preparation and self-administration of medication. Transporting individuals to activities and/or appointments may also be your responsibility. Additional responsibilities may be specific to the individual's needs. Waivered DSP positions include the following:
Live-In Staff
Tired of paying rent? We pay you to live in an apartment - furnished or unfurnished as you wish - in a group home. This is a full-time position where experience is preferred working with people with developmental disabilities. The hours are Sunday through Thursday 10pm - 9am. Overnight hours are in exchange for room and board. Awake hours are paid at an hourly rate
Primary Counselor
This is a full-time position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities. The hours are generally 4 days a week working from 2pm - 10pm and every other Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6pm.
Program Director
This is a full-time supervisory position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities, a four-year degree in a related field, and one year of experience in supervision. The hours will vary.
Support Counselor
This is generally a part-time position where experience is preferred working with people with developmental disabilities. The hours vary, but are generally 2p - 10pm and every other Saturday and Sunday.
Weekend Live-In
This is generally a part-time position where experience is preferred working with people with developmental disabilities. The hours vary, but are generally Friday 10pm until Sunday 10pm.
MI Residential Services
Work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness providing community based supports. Responsibilities may include teaching independent living skills, maintaining a clean and safe living environment, meal preparation, teaching coping skills and self-administration of medication. Transporting individuals to activities and/or appointments may also be your responsibility. Additional responsibilities may be specific to the individual's needs. MI Residential Services DSP positions include the following:
Mental Health Counselor
This is a full-time position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with mental illness. The hours are generally Monday through Friday working from 7am - 3pm, 11am - 7pm, or 3pm - 11pm.
Mental Health Practitioner
This is a full-time position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with mental illness and a four-year degree in a related field. The hours are generally Monday through Friday working from 7am - 3pm, 11am - 7pm, or 3pm - 11pm - may involve some weekends.
Mental Health Rehab Worker
This is a generally a part-time position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with mental illness. The hours vary and include weekend hours.
Program Director

Sleep Over
This is a full-time position that requires experience working with people with mental illness. The hours are Monday through Friday working from 11pm - 7am.
Weekend Live_in
This is generally a part-time position where experience is preferred working with people with mental illness. The hours are Friday 11pm through Sunday 11pm every other weekend.
Independent Options
Work with individuals with developmental disabilities providing community based supports. Responsibilities may include teaching independent living skills, maintaining a clean and safe living environment, meal preparation, teaching coping skills and self-administration of medication. Transporting individuals to activities and/or appointments is also a responsibility. Additional responsibilities may be specific to the individual's needs. Independent Options DSP positions include the following:
Program Coordinator
This is a full-time position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Excellent written and verbal skills are a must as well as computer knowledge. The hours are generally Monday through Friday working various hours and occasional weekends depending on the consumer caseload and an occasional Saturday.
Program Director
This is a full-time supervisory position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities, a four-year degree in a related field, and one year of experience in supervision. The hours will vary.
Community Service Program
Work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness providing community based supports. Responsibilities may include teaching independent living skills, maintaining a clean and safe living environment, meal preparation, teaching coping skills and self-administration of medication. Transporting individuals to activities and/or appointments is also a responsibility. Additional responsibilities may be specific to the individual's needs.
Community Services Program
ILS Coordinator
This is a full-time position that requires at least one year of experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness. Excellent written and verbal skills is a must as well as computer knowledge. The hours are generally Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm but may vary.
